Review Request & QR Code Builder

Reviews win you work while you sleep. Paste your Google review link and get a scannable QR code plus ready-to-send messages, so asking becomes a two-tap habit, not a chore.

The short version

The best time to ask for a review is the moment a customer is happy. This tool turns your Google review link into a QR code you can slap on invoices, cards or the van, and copy-and-send messages for text, WhatsApp and email. Make it one tap for the customer and far more of them will actually do it.

How to actually get the reviews

The tool is the easy bit. Getting reviews is about asking well, at the right moment. A few things that work:

  • Ask when they are happiest. The moment the job is done and they are pleased, that is your window. Not a week later.
  • Ask in person, then follow up. A quick “would you mind leaving us a review, it really helps” on the day, then the text or QR so it is easy to actually do.
  • Make it one tap. Nobody searches for your business to leave a review. The direct link or a QR code removes every excuse.
  • Never buy or fake them. It is against Google’s rules and customers smell it a mile off. Real reviews from real jobs, every time.
A steady trickle of genuine 5-star reviews is one of the cheapest, most powerful bits of marketing a trade business has. It builds trust before you have even spoken to the customer.

Questions tradespeople ask

Where do I find my Google review link?
Open your Google Business Profile, look for the “Ask for reviews” or “Get more reviews” option, and copy the short link it gives you. It usually starts with g.page/r/. Paste that into the tool and it builds your QR code and messages around it.
Is it against the rules to ask for reviews?
No. Asking happy customers for an honest review is completely fine and encouraged. What is against Google’s rules is buying reviews, faking them, or offering incentives in exchange. Just ask real customers after real jobs.
Where should I put the QR code?
Anywhere a happy customer will see it: the bottom of your invoices and quotes, a business card, a sticker on the van, a small sign by the door, or a printed thank-you card you leave behind. The easier it is to scan, the more reviews you get.
Does my review link get sent to Toolbox Tribe?
No. The QR code and messages are all built in your browser using JavaScript. Your link, business name and messages are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Close the tab and nothing is kept.
How many reviews do I need?
There is no magic number, but a steady flow beats a one-off burst. A handful of recent, genuine reviews reassures customers far more than a pile of old ones. Build asking into your routine and it looks after itself.
